Hindi edition of the book ‘Poverty & Freedom’ launched

The Weekly Times, Sunday 19 July 2020. Poverty remains a much misunderstood phenomenon, as do the causes for its removal, points out the Hindi translation of the book `Poverty and Development: Case Studies on Global Economic Development’, a classic treatise on growth.
The Hindi edition of the book, published originally by the Atlas Network, was released online here on Saturday. The original book is edited by the President of the Atlas Network, Matt Warner.



The Hindi edition of the book was released in India by leading think tank, Centre for Civil Society, and liberal web portal, Azadi.me. It was released by the Editor of Azadi-me, Avinash Chandra. A reading session was also held on the occasion. For Hindi readers, the book will be made available free of cost.
A discussion on `Poverty Alleviation and the Role of Think Tanks’ was organised on the occasion. It was addressed by advocate Prashant Narang, activists Zia Banday from Pakistan, Basanta Adhikari from Nepal, Mohammad Omar Mustafiz from Bangladesh and Mohammad Khalid Ramizi from Afghanistan, among other leading speakers.
Activists from the different South Asian countries discussed the steps taken for poverty alleviation in their respective nations. The discussion was moderated by Avinash Chandra, who said that this book will be available free for all eaders by August.
